so what I do is I choose an angle that I imagine light is coming from, and on the opposite side the shading is darker, like how on this drawing the side the light is shining on the right side. I take the main color I want and add it to all the spots im using it, then I take two shades darker and fill in edges then one shade darker and fill right next to the darkest shade, then I do the same thing on the lighter side, and add in white highlights, it's a little hard to explain lol, but I hope that helped
