I like the colors u chose! But you should always shade and highlight, depending on the vibe of the coloring sheet, it depends on how much shading and highlighting to do. If you have a dark or gothic it might be smart to do little or no highlights and really dark shading, sometimes you need to add multiple layers. On this one it’s a happy cupcake so you might need to have some strong highlights. Personally I use the watercolor brush, but you can use whatever you like. I see that you shaded at the bottom tho, and most people don’t do that, even people who have been here awhile, so for a beginner ur doing good 😊 👍
